Flight Club 502 and Project RV-12 Build:
Flight Club 502 was established in 2015 as a not-for-profit charity by EAA Chapter 110 member Laura Jones and several high school students. The goal of this youth flight club is to inspire lifelong success in its members by incorporating aviation and STEM subjects as the springboard. From its small beginnings, this group has grown to over 140 members strong. Several of our EAA Chapter members are actively involved with Flight Club 502 and the affiliated RV-12 Youth Build Project, supporting the students in their goal of learning through aviation.
The Project RV-12 Build was established in 2017 by EAA Chapter 110 member Keith Aultman. As a pilot, a certified Airframe and Powerplant maintenance technician (“A&P”), and an accomplished experimental aircraft builder, Keith joined hands with Laura’s Flight Club 502 team. Through his skills and leadership, the students are nearing the completion of their first build project, an RV-12 aircraft.
